Options

Nowadays the use of barcode scanners in a warehousing environment has become quite commonplace. Now the route taken by the larger warehouse companies can be afforded by all.
The Optimiser WMS barcode module and hardware is a seamless integration of order picking, stock movements and receipts with any modern barcode scanning terminal into the powerful Optimiser WMS software.
Barcode scanning will enable you to capture all you product information, batch codes, lot numbers, weight, dates, serial numbers etc contained within the barcode
We use only the best handheld technology thus ensuring a reliable solution.

Technology

Optima uses the latest 1D and 2D barcode symbology (see fig 1, 2) to capture all of the barcode information.  RFID tag (fig 3) is a newer but tried and tested technology and this can be integrated in to the Optimiser WMS solution.  The only down side of RFID is the cost of the tags.

No Barcodes?

If you are unlucky enough not to have barcodes or have a mix of some products that have labels and others that do not, then do not worry.  Optimiser WMS can print both 1d and 2d  barcode labels on demand  for your pallets, cartons and locations so that you can produce a label to use with your barcode scanners saving on buying in bespoke labels.

Benefits of Barcode Scanning

The investment in a wireless network and barcode scanning can be quite high for a large warehouse but the benefits are easily recovered with quicker and more accurate picking of stock. By the use of wireless barcode scanners you remove the often distracting task of operators reporting back to the office for their next job. In addition the automation of feeding the tasks to the operators, and the automatic updating of Optimiser as those tasks are completed, makes the whole process more efficient and more accurate. The Optimiser barcode RF module will monitor and record the warehouse operator’s day to day tasks allowing you to report on all activities including task start and end times, number of tasks completed and tasks outstanding.
Furthermore barcode scanning is an ideal solution if products need serial tracking as the solution gives 100% accuracy allowing you peace of mind and time to concentrate on the day to day running of the warehouse.
