Optima are delighted to announce that a new ecommerce WMS that integrates Shopify has gone live.

The software, recently designed following a request from BOXstation, now makes it easier for small companies and retailers to not only sell their products; but also keep track of stock levels and orders via the widely used Shopify selling platform.

BOXstation offer clients a pay-as-you-go fulfilment services, providing them with a tailor-made solution that looks after product warehousing, inventory management, picking, packing and dispatch, and is popular among internet retailers.

During the design and build process Optima were able to add interfaces to Shopify’s API that downloads orders as soon as they’re placed, while also tracking “paid” states to only activate the order in Optimiser once the transaction has been processed through Shopify.

The software also marks orders as cancelled when need-be, while updating the platform once items have been shipped, complete with tracking details, not to mention updating figures to reflect the latest warehouse stock levels.

As a result, companies such as BOXstation, are now able to offer a service which requires a minimal amount of order management and can even synchronise traders’ stock across other sales channels such as Amazon and Ebay.

“Integration with Shopify now opens up a large community of sellers to 3PL fulfilment houses,” explains David Appleby, General Operations Manager at Optima. “It offers a service which takes care of order management as well as cross-channel synchronisation, while for existing customers, it will reduce the need for re-keying orders, saving time and money as well as reducing human error.”

BOXstation are currently in the process of migrating their existing customers’ stock holding to the Optimiser Core WMS system, so there was a tight deadline when it came to delivering the product and increasing the level of service they are able offer their customer base.

Set the task of delivering the new WMS by September and in time for the busy Christmas period, Optima worked to an aggressive development schedule and were able to deliver the solution just seven weeks from the original signed order and with two weeks to spare, going live on August 18th.

Not only does the design, build and quick turnaround benefit online retailers of all sizes, it also demonstrates the versatility of the Optimiser platform when it comes to integrating with the very latest and most popular sales platforms.
