Optima 2017


It was a fantastic 2017 for us all here at Optima, and our Optimser Warehouse Management Software goes from strength to strength, thanks to our team, and our customers.

Here’s what you need to know about Optima in 2017.

Technical features

We worked introducing and improving a lot of technical features during 2017.

Here’s just a few examples of the technical features we’ve added or improved.

Implemented Workflow Imports / Exports

This is a completely overhauled file import / export system able to import and export hundreds of files per minute.

We’ve also revamped error handling system reports, and any errors found in files won’t block other imports.

This is rolling out to all existing customers for free as part of our program of continuous improvements.

New Invoicing Process

We re-wrote the invoicing process in 2017, and it now just takes a staggering 10% of the time to run that it did previously, even when calculating rental charges for multiple customers.

Speeding up the the invoicing process by 90%, means that you can get paid quicker.

Integration list

 We  spent a lot of last year adding new platforms to our Integration List.

You told us what you wanted, and we listened.

So, here’s what we’ve done.

Ecommerce Marketplaces

We now integrate with the following ecommerce platforms:

So, if you sell on any of these platforms, your customers can see accurate stock levels on your website.

In addition, you’ll know what stock you have, and which platform has sold it.


Due to unprecedented customer demand, we’ve doubled the number of couriers we integrate with this year.

If you use any of these couriers you can speed up your labelling and dispatch process, and select the right courier based on different rules such as weight, location or product size.

Courier Management Systems

As the popularity of Courier Management Systems increases, we now integrate with:

 Migration to SaaS

We have migrated 5 of our installed customers to our SaaS WMS solution.

Almost all customers have been using our SaaS option (hosted in the ‘cloud’) since we were the first WMS software provider to offer SaaS, way back in 2005.

All these recent migrations were because business was expanding, and the SaaS model allows them to add more functionality for a small monthly cost.

As we could migrate them for free, it just made sense.

We are currently in the process of migrating Charles Willie Shipping Group so they can add the file import functionality they need, inexpensively.


As you can tell, it’s been a busy year at Optima, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

We’re delighted that we’ve helped so many new and existing customers to be more efficient and effective, and get more orders out quicker.

Whilst we’re proud of our achievements in 2017, we’re already working hard to help new and existing customers make more of technology to improve their warehouse management.
