For customers who opt for our Courier Module we have now released full integration with the DPD Ship@Ease API system.
This allows customers to integrate key functionality such as:
- Parcel shipping
- Tracking
- Returns
Directly into their own website or enterprise system.
So how does the DPD Ship@ease API system work?
Orders are picked and packed using Optimiser and parcel information is gathered either using RF scanner terminals or manually entered.
Once completed, the Consignment is posted to DPD using the preferred shipping method, Next Day, Saturday before 10:00 or whatever option is selected.
DPD updates Optimiser with a consignment number, which can then be emailed out to clients or delivery points in rich HTML emails, with a link to the DPD tracking website.
Labels are then automatically printed off in the warehouse by using the label printer nearest to the chosen packing bench and are ready to be applied to the package.
What are the benfits of DPD Ship@ease?
This simple system eliminates double keying (typing information twice – once in Optimiser, and once in DPD’s website), as well as being extremely efficient, while also saving time and money.
Not to mention allowing customers greater transparency when it comes to locating their items.
