Simplify your picking by Wave Picking to a Van
Descartes generates the routes and allocates the orders to vans, this is downloaded into Optima WMS to allow Wave Picks to be generated and grouped by van
Keep tracking information with the order
Tracking information is easily visible and can be accessed by your customers using the Client Access Portal
When your orders are ready to be processed, you can submit them to Descartes ahead of picking. This allows the system to allocate transport and plan the most efficient delivery routes.
Once Descartes has calculated the required vans and optimised the routes, this data is pulled back into Optima WMS. Orders can then be grouped by vehicle and can be picked by wave.
If packing is required before loading, the process includes a dedicated packing station. Here, labels are printed, paperwork is generated, and items are placed in appropriately sized packaging, ready for despatch.
Once picked, orders can be stored securely in cages awaiting loading or directly loaded onto the designated van. This streamlined process ensures efficiency, reduces errors, and guarantees the correct orders are loaded onto the correct vehicle every time, saving both time and costs.
